The serial numbers are double stamped on the case back for an Automatic or Quartz references. I was aware of the Sonic version of this watch, but have never seen this quartz version before. The current movement is an immaculate Eterna-matic 25 Jewel as you would expect to find. Who performed the transplant from quartz to Automatic, the Eterna factory or the Jewellery shop I am not clear about? It is a very complete job with correct hands and crown, wether these would have been transferable from a quartz movement I could not say. I bought this from the original owner, who in turn bought it new from a Jeweller in Italy. This is not an issued watch but a civilian version, the benefit is that it is almost untouched and in amazing condition. This model has been made famous due to its selection for military use by the Israeli Defence Forces. This watch also comes with its original papers presented to the original owner on purchase.
It is in near perfect condition and comes presented on a very rare and original Eterna diving mesh with seatbelt style clasp. This Eterna divers watch dates from the early 1970s but has lived an easy life. Item: 233173703639 Eterna Super Kontiki Original vintage diver IDF model.
